Samsung suffered another critical blow from Apple when Federal Court in Australia imposed a temporary ban on sale of Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy 10.1 tablets in Australia, following a patent suit filed by Apple. Apple had accused Samsung of copying Apple’s touch screen technology in their Galaxy tabs.
Apple and Samsung are involved in legal fights in around nine countries round the globe. Apple will find the ruling of Australian Federal Court beneficial, as Samsung is Apple’s one of the biggest contenders in the smart phone and the tablet industry.
This is the second consecutive blow for Samsung Electronics from Apple in a short span of time. The sale of Samsung’s Galaxy 10.1 tablets was banned in Germany on 9th of September, 2011 following an injunction filed by Apple.

Though of course it's completely legal for companies to pursue injunctive measures against their competition, I am ambivalent; is it ethical for corporations to use patent infringement merely as an anti-competitive tactic, or should these disputes be settled in the marketplace, where they belong?
