Cordance Corporation filed a patent infringement case against Amazon alleging that Amazon's website that allows a customer to store payment and shipping information violates its patents relating to one-click shopping and customer feedback. Cordance claimed damages to the tune of 84 million dollars . The district court held Amazon liable for violation of patents of Cordance. On appeal, the federal circuit now held that Amazon is not liable as the patents are invalid based on lack of novelty.
