Switzerland topped the list of innovators around the world in the Global Innovation Index released in Geneva by the Paris-based INSEAD business school, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Alcatel-Lucent, Booz & Company, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Sweden, Singapore and Hong Kong (SAR) are ranked in the next three spots respectively. India is ranked 62 in the list of 63 countries.
The Global Innovation Index (GII), which is prepared and released every year since 2007, aims to establish metrics for measuring innovation to better understand its role in driving economic progress.
