Gap Inc. Sued by Kim Kardashian for using celebrity lookalike for a commercial

US garments giant GAP Inc. was sued by Television star Kim Kardashian for using her look alike for a television commercial of the former’s Old Navy unit. The suit is said have claimed that the use of the celebrity lookalike would project a false message to the public that the star is associated with the brand and is promoting the same. It was alleged that the star was never contacted by Gap for her permission to use her image and that she suffered damage by misappropriation of her name.

The suit that claims infringement of her rights in her name and her image has sought injunction and monetary damages.
