Nokia loses 3G patent battle in UK High Court

In a recent decision involving 3G patent, the UK High Court held that  Nokia is infringing on a key 3G patent that covers the prioritisation of emergency and security services on mobile networks. This was in a suit filed by IPCom, the Bavarian patent licensing company that owns the European Patent No. 1 841 268.  IP com owns this patent since 2007. IP com is also claiming patent infringement against HTC. After this judgment, IP com now seeks to ban the sale of 3G Nokia phones in the UK unless Nokia agrees to pay IPCom licensing fees.
