Utility Models for India, comments invited by DIPP

Indian Flag fluttering in the wind Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), has released a discussion paper on Utility Models in India with the objective to develop a suitable framework for the protection of utility models, if DIPP feels it is desirable after receiving all the views and suggestions.

The views and suggestions have been sought for  Section X (page 20 onwards) of the paper entitled ‘Issues for Resolution’ backed up by facts, figures and empirical evidence. The same may be furnished by 30th June 2011 by email to [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].

 

About Utility Models

Utility models is a framework for providing a limited protection to those innovations which may not meet the standards of the Patents Act and yet are commercially exploitable and socially relevant.
