Controller General of the Controller General of Patents, Trademarks and Designs Shri P.H. Kurian, while addressing a seminar announced that India will be joining the Madrid system within one year. The Controller General said that India had been negotiating with the World Intellectual Property Organization to join the System for several years, but has never officially confirmed its decision to join. In his address he also cautioned the Indian Companies to get into the culture of getting their Trademark registered.
