Delhi High Court has restrained Trans Tyres (India) Pvt Ltd from selling tyres and tubes bearing the brand name Double Coin. The suit was filed by a Chinese Company, Double Coin Holdings Ltd, which was using the trademark 'Double Coin' since 1930 and has been producing tyres and tubes since 1936. The Chinese company has its Trademark Double coin registered in India since 2006. Passing an interim order, Justice V K Jain said the Indian company has no manufacturing unit and serious injury was likely to be caused to the Chinese firm.
