Intellecture, Brain League's training division is conducting a seminar entitled “EMERGING TRENDS IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY” on April 22nd, 2011 at Le Meridien, Bangalore. The prime focus of the seminar will be on emerging trends of IP such as International Technology Transfer, International Branding strategy, Emerging IP laws and managing and unearthing your IP. The sessions will be delivered by leading IP practitioners and Industry experts.
The seminar will conclude with a counseling session aimed at clarifying queries of clients at a personal level. The counseling session is a great opportunity for the participants to seek answers for any questions relevant to their work or company.

Speaker Profiles
Prof. Anil Suraj, bearing a keen academic and policy interest in the World Trade Organization and its basket of multilateral agreements, including TRIPs, Mr. Anil Suraj is presently a Visiting Faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and is particularly associated with the Centre for Public Policy. During his stint as a Research Fellow at the National Judicial Academy, India, Mr. Suraj coordinated training programmes for senior District Judges and High Court Justices on various topics, including – Economic analysis of law and adjudication of economic laws, with a specific focus on intellectual property. Mr. Suraj has been involved in international research projects and has been regularly addressing audiences of varied stakeholders on legal and economic issues.
Mr. Nishant Kewalramani
Mr. Nishant Kewalramani heads the IP Consulting and Strategy Division at Brain League. He holds a Masters degree in Intellectual Property Rights, Commerce & Technology from Franklin Pierce, USA. He is a B.Sc. LLB (Honors) graduate from National Law University, Jodhpur. He is a registered patent and trademark agent.
During his career he has worked on a variety of Intellectual Property issues ranging from filings to strategic management of Intellectual Property. He has immense experience in Intellectual Property Portfolio Management and therefore has dealt with IP filing in various countries including the likes of USA, India and European Union.
As the head of the Consulting and Strategy Division at Brain League he has been a part of various corporate training programs. He also holds advanced certifications in Electronic Commerce and Intellectual Property from World Intellectual Property Organization.
Prof. Ramakrishna, was a Lecturer from 1979-1988, Reader in Law from 1988-1994, Professor of Law from 1995-2002, and Principal of Vidyavardhaka Law College, Mysore during 1992-2002. He was Visiting Faculty at the Department of Post-graduate Studies & Research in Law, Mysore University, and Karnataka Police Academy between 1990 and 2002. He joined the NLSIU as an Additional Professor of Law in 2002 and was promoted as Professor of Law in 2006.
Presently he holds the Intellectual Property Rights Chair [IPR Chair] of the Ministry of Human Resources and Development at the NLSIU and he is the Coordinator of the Centre of Intellectual Property Rights Research and Advocacy [CIPRA] at the NLSIU.
Dr. Kalyan C Kankanala
Dr. Kalyan is the Cheif Knowledge Officer of Brain League. His forte is IP Management, Licensing and Training. During his illustrious career as an IP professional, Dr. Kalyan has worked closely with technology driven companies on IP protection, Strategic IP analysis, IP Audits, alliances and Licensing. He is the backbone of the team at Brain League that provides the legal and management components for providing services with a blend of technology, management and law.
Dr. Kalyan works very closely with start ups as well as well established companies to build IP Culture and Hygiene through various awareness and skill based programs. He is a visiting faculty at National Law School of India University, Bangalore and guest faculty at IIM, Bangalore. His national and international publications on IP have been cited in research papers and books published across the world. Kalyan's books entitled, 'Genetic Patent Law and Strategy' and 'Asian Patent Law' (published in Japan by ten authors) have received international acclaim and recognition among professionals in the field. His recent book on Indian Patent Law and Practice (co-authored with Mr. Arun and Ms. Vinita) published by Oxford University Press is the first of its kind in India and has made a much needed contribution to flow of knowledge in patent law.
