Ferrari, a well known Italian car manufacturer has reportedly filed for a patent relating to a mood reading system employable in a car. The technology, for which a patent has been sought, monitors driver reactions such as eye movement, heart rate, skin temperature, breathing, perspiration levels, brainwave activity, and blood pressure, and accordingly adjusts various electronic safeguards to minimize the chances of crash.
The patent application is said to state “…Drivers tend to miscalculate-in particular, over estimate-their driving skill and more importantly, their psychological condition, with the result that driver-selected dynamic vehicle performance reflects the driver’s wish, as opposed to the driver’s actual psycho-physical condition and proficiency…’
Previously, Ferrari was in news for filing patent applications directed to AWD hybrid system (with European patent Office), unique door, where the door is hingedly connected to the hood.
