Airtel and Vodafone have been sued for copyright violation. S. Khaja Mohideen, the proprietor of Bayshore records, has filed a complaint against M/s Bharati Airtel and Vodafone Essar Limited alleging that they were selling ring tones and caller tunes without obtaining permission from the copyright holder of the film audio works. Chennai police will commence the investigatigation of the matter and would be providing a report to the Madras High Court within three months after which the case will be heard.
