US Copyright Group to drop the lawsuit against 6000 defendants

US copyright Group had filed 2 group lawsuit against 6000 anonymous defendants for copyright piracy in District of Columbia. The defendants are off the board from that suit as the law firms who filed the suits have decided to drop the case. Last month, Judge Rosemary Collyer in an attempt to end the uncertainty, limited the amount of time that the lawyers have to turn their list of IP addresses into names. Hence, it was decided to drop these law suits. However, the Court has granted the dismissal without any prejudice, hence the US copyright group is free to re-file the suit. However, this time the Group has to look for a closer jurisdiction as the Judge has also raised the issue of filing suit is such far away jurisdiction
