3 M Company won a trademark infringement suit for its world popular Littmann brand stethoscopes. 3 M had sued Mr. Pradeep Mohan, a business man based in Santa Cruz. He was accused of selling stethoscopes over the Internet with infringing on the Maplewood-based giant's trademarks and patents. Hearing the case, U.S. District Judge Ann Montgomery said Mohan intentionally led consumers to believe his devices were associated with Littmann models made and sold by 3M and was ordered to stop selling stethoscopes that could easily be confused with some of 3M's Littmann brand stethoscopes.
