Zynga and Playdom, the two popular game companies had a settlement over a trade secret lawsuit. Zynga had sued its rival Playdon in September 2009. The suit alleged that four former Zynga employees had stolen the company’s trade secrets when they had left the company to join Playdom. It was further alleged that the four employees had stolen “The Zynga Playbook,” which is the recipe book that contains Zynga’s secret sauce for competing in social games. The Santa Clara Superior Court had granted an injunction in Zynga’s favor in the lawsuit in March and another one in August saying that Playdom was not allowed to use any of the allegedly stolen trade secrets. Finally the two companies went for a settlement. The terms of the settlement are not disclosed.
