FACEBOOK APPLICATION FOR IPAD TERMINATED FROM I-STORE FOR TRADEMARK VIOLATION
An application developed by an individual developer for use of facebook on ipad is terminated by Apple stating that the same is violating the trademark of “Facebook”. The developer has earlier also developed various application to be used on Apple’s i-phone.
The application for ipad which was priced at $2.99 had already made its place in top 10 applications for ipad. The developer has stated that she has created a altogether different logo “F” (with different font and colour) for her application and has also provided a disclaimer that the developer is not related to the facebook, however there are various other applications which uses the exactly same logo of facebook and and are not axed.
Thereafter, facebook has announced that they will be reviewing various application which are available as a facebook tool for possible trademark and copyright violation.
