Strengths of the program
The program gives a good overview of the basic concepts of Intellectual Property and is a very good course for beginners;
In addition to basic concepts, the course also provides an insight into IP aspects of IT and Biotech and is therefore well-suited for professionals in the said fields; and
The faculty members teaching in the program are well-qualified and experienced; and
The program has a mix of students and professionals and is a good forum to discuss and brain storm on IP issues.
Weaknesses
The course deals with theory and does not provide any training with respect to IP skills;
As half of the program focuses on basic concepts and general principles, it may not be suited for IP professionals looking to learn advanced aspects of IP; and
The course does not teach IP skills required for an IP professional.
Opinion
The program offered by National Law School of India University is the best course available for beginners in IP. It gives a good insight into basic concepts of IP and also provides an overview of various advanced issues.
The classes offered by the program chief, Professor Ramakrishna, and his qualified team of faculty members are very interactive and interesting. Professor Ramakrishna is very pro-active and offers active guidance to his students in the program.
I would recommend this course to any person interested in IP. The course will provide a good foundation for advanced studies in IP. However, after completing this program, an aspiring IP professional must either join an advanced or skill based program or do an internship at an IP unit to learn IP skills.

it was nice days , with mixture of people from all fields , more than understanding basics of ip , we could see the perseption of ip from different fields , that i feel is unmeasurable and hard to get
When I joined this Course , I did not have any knowledge of IP Laws, but as this course focuses in the Basic Principle of IP, which helped me to understand the subject from the root and inspired me to take up IP as my career. I agree with the weaknesses mentioned by Dr.Kalyan and also want to give some suggestion:-
1) The Question paper pattern need some changes.( for eg- Multiple choice Questions)
2) Number of classes must be increased. (at list 3 days in a month)
3) Separate classes for student of Technical background and Law background, as technical students can learn more of Patent law and Law students can concentrate in Trademark and Copyright law.
