WiMAX patents available for License at “more predictable cost”
Major technology giants like Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Clear wire, Samsung and Sprint who hold WiMAX 4G mobile broadband technology patents have come together to form a WiMAX patent pool. It is called as “Open Patent Alliance”, which helps the companies to get WiMAX licenses from a single source. The goal is to provide WiMAX licenses to the interested companies at more predictable cost. The royalty structure will be such as to charge only for the features to develop WiMAX products.
